Black Summer Truffle

Tuber aestivum Vitt.

Famous also with the name of Scorzone, it is not considered a precious truffle nevertheless it is well apreciated for its uses in the kitchen. The surface is black, with big and pyramidal warts. Gleba is yellowsh/bronze in ripe truffle with light veins. It releases a delicate odour who recalls the smell of mushrooms. Harvest period: May – September.
